My name is Eric Ose and I'm the Robot Ambassador. In 2013 I started volunteering teaching people electronics, robotics and other making skills. Soon I was offered a contract to work with libraries to do programs. Not all places that would like my programs have money to pay for them. This is my effort to help fund more of what I love to do.
This all started when I first visited HeatSync Labs Hackerspace in late 2012. HeatSync is an all volunteer organized community of makers and hackers that decided they wanted to share the tools to make things. They worked together to fund a physical space for making. After I encountered the amazing people at HeatSync my life dramatically changed. Rather than make long elaborate plans before starting a project I was surrounded by people who helped me learn and encouraged me to jump in and try new things.
My goal as Robot Ambassador is to help people find and grow their community and make great things together. There are a lot of libraries and schools trying to include STEM / STEAM / Maker stuff in their learning programs. My goal is to help them do this, and to help them make the most of community collaboration.
